What do you like about First Reformed Church?
I am so thankful to be part of a congregation who seeks to grow together in loving the Lord and loving neighbor... I treasure our liturgy, the meaningful songs we sing to the Lord, and our joining in intercession for each others' needs, as well as for the needs of our immediate communities, and those of communities far away experiencing injustice and violence. It is precious to recognize how much the Lord loves all peoples ~Vilma Balmaceda
For me it’s about connecting - connecting with God and Jesus, the congregation, me, my family, things and people I can touch and can’t touch. It goes deep and wide but it’s all about connecting with them. Everyday I think about this. Everyday. ~Kevin Graham
The warm and supportive community, opportunities for service, connectedness to Nyack, beautiful space and amazing musical performances. Our church is so much more than all of this, which makes it a privilege to be a part of such an amazing place! ~Joanne Ciuccio
There are many new and exciting things happening in our church. Personally, Carol and I, after so many years as members of our congregation, feel we are a part of its “new awakening” … and that is exciting to us. GO FRC! ~Alan Cann
We are a family of families! ~Jim Rensink
The people, the pastor, the sermons, the music, the building, the coffee hour and the location, in other words: everything. ~Matthew Ciuccio
I love my church! I began attending to bring my daughters, Erica and Jenna, for Sunday School many years ago. It was my in-laws church and everybody seemed so nice. I decided to become a member a few years ago and have not regretted it at all! Everyone is so kind and caring. I have never hesitated to ask for prayers. This congregation will pray fervently for that person. When you share your joys, you know the whole congregation shares them. It truly is a warm, spiritual group of people and I am so proud to be a member of this awesome church! ~Terri Wanamaker
One of the things I like best about First Reformed Church is the beautiful sanctuary. So rich in history, you can feel the presence of members from days gone by. The stained glass windows, crosses, altars....even the smell: fills me with nostalgia and peace... ~Cindy Graham
I like the extraordinary sense of community at First Reformed Church! ~Jill Johnson
I wanted to thank the members of FRC that saw me enter the church yesterday to worship. In a lifetime of traveling and relocating I have visited many churches but have never received such a warm, open and heartfelt welcome. I want to thank one and all of the wonderful people I met as you welcomed me to your community on such a busy and special day. The Spirit of God is alive and thriving through each member I met. I am new to the area, but as I left the church late last night and walked home through the streets of Nyack I felt a complete peace and the joyful feeling of having just enjoyed dinner with family. Thank you for you warm greetings and the invitation to join in your celebrations. ~Jerry McIntosh
The First Reformed Church has always welcomed and loved children. Sunday School, a lively worship service, the Christmas Pageant and the Easter Journey to Jerusalem are experiences that help young people grow in their faith. ~Bonnie Williams
What I LOVE about First Reformed is the congregation. Family is not just a word at this church, it's a feeling, it's an action and it's seen. You can SEE the work family on action. If you're having a rough week, month, or year, expect the family of FRC to be there for you. If you're having an amazing week, month, year, expect the family of FRC to celebrate with you! Thank you FRC family! ~Nicole Arzola
There is much to like about FRC, but what I find most delightful is that everyone is always genuinely happy to see you and cares about what’s going on in your life. Whether at the church Sunday service, or just bumping into someone around town, there’s always a cheerful "HELLO!" And maybe a hug or handshake, and a genuinely interested “How are you doing?” ~Judith Myers
