MUSIC

Led by James Rensink, world renowned organist and singer, The Reformed Church of Nyack hosts one of the most notable sacred music programs in one of the most elegant performance venues in the Lower Hudson Valley area.

The all-volunteer choir, that sings almost every Sunday from September through June, is at the heart of the music programs. With singers of varying musical sophistication, they perform the most recent sacred works with enthusiasm and panache. There are also many congregants with professional musical experience – ranging from talented amateurs to principals of the New York Philharmonic. They often participate in the services with other guest artists from some of the world’s finest ensembles.

In addition to friends from the Philharmonic, we regularly host guest musicians from The Orchestra of St. Luke's, The American Ballet Theater, The Metropolitan Opera, and many other venues. The choir and guest artists have the distinct advantage of accompaniment from a splendid 57 rank Peragallo organ, or a 9-foot concert grand piano. With all these assets, it is no surprise that the Reformed Church of Nyack has become a Nyack center for fine music, both sacred and secular.
